Powers of Attorney
Persons of legal age who wish to grant a power of attorney to a third person who is in Uruguay, so that he/she may carry out the procedure for which the authorization is given in their name and on their behalf.
General Power of Attorney before the Consular Section:
Requirements
- Identity document of the principal.
- Copy of the proxy’s identity document.
- Inform marital status and domicile of both parties.
Note: Once the General Power of Attorney has been obtained, in order for it to be used in Uruguay, the signature of the consular officer acting before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay must be legalized.
Once you have carefully reviewed the above requirements, please send your appointment request to uruturquia@mrree.gub.uy, sending the required documents as an attachment.
After corroborating the information, you will receive a reply with the details of your appointment to appear at the Consular Section on the date and time indicated.

General Power of Attorney before a local Notary Public:
You should go to the local Notary Office located closest to your place of residence in Türkiye, and request the issuance of a General Power of Attorney.
Once you have the notarized document, it must be apostilled before the competent local authority.
Note: The apostilled Power of Attorney must be notarized before a Notary Public in Uruguay in order to be used in the country.
